Midwest Energy Emissions Corporation and EERC Launch Commercial Application of New Mercury Control Technology

GRAND FORKS, N.D. --- The Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) at the University of North Dakota announced today that a major corporate partner, Midwest Energy Emissions Corporation (ME2C), a research-oriented mercury emission capture company based in Grand Forks, North Dakota, is launching a new mercury control system. The sorbent enhancement additive (SEATM) injection technology originally developed by the EERC is being installed at a major power utility on the West Coast and will be commissioned this fall. GRAND FORKS, N.D. --- The Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) at the University of North Dakota announced today that Fujian Longking Co., Ltd., based in Longyan, Fujian, China, is signing an exclusive license with the EERC Foundation to demonstrate and commercially deploy the EERC-developed advanced hybrid particulate collector technology to improve global air quality. A signing ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010, in the EERC's Discovery Hall. (MORE)
